Below are exerpts from an email received from the South Addition Community Council on 11-18-2003.
SACC passed a resolution on the Coastal Trail extension at its April 2002 meeting. I cannot locate those minutes, but they are reported in the May 2002 newsletter which I am attaching. I am also attaching a copy of the May minutes which confirm the resolution.

New Business. Tony Knowles Trail Extension. SACC passed the following resolution 15-0. "The South Addition Community Council advocates and supports construction of the South Extension of the Coastal Trail along a route that has the look and feel similar to the existing Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, is as coastal and continuous as possible, and is consistent with the purpose of the Anchorage coastal Wildlife Refuge Management Plan to protect fish and wildlife resources as well as allow for the use and enjoyment of the residents of the community. Furthermore, the South Addition Community Council is not supportive of House Bill 474 and recommends HB474 not become law.

Vice President Kathy Weeks called the meeting to order. Kathy moved New Business item B to item A to accommodate presenters' schedules. Elaine Nelson moved approval of the April minutes. The motion passed unanimously.
Old Business. Coastal Trail Resolution. Kathy explained that the resolution was being presented again because SACC bylaws require reconsideration of a resolution on a subject that was not noticed on the agenda in order to allow public input. No one opposed the resolution from the April meeting. House Bill 474, supported in the resolution, passed in Juneau. Ruth Moulder passed a petition around asking that the Coastal Trail extension stay close to the coast
Elaine Nelson moved to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 9:25 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Sue Richmond, Acting Secretary
